Dr. Reinhard Walter

Dr. Reinhard Walter studied Business Administration and Law at the universities of Braunschweig, Muenster and Saarbruecken, Germany. After his graduation in 1975, he joined the financial department of Urangesellschaft mbH, a uranium mining and trading company with activities in North America, Brazil, Australia, and Africa.

1983 through 1988 he was Managing Director of Uraphos Chemie GmbH. The company was active in the field of engineering and recycling of industrial waste, such as secondary aluminium.

1989 through 1994 he became Member of the Executive Board of Directors of Berzelius Umwelt-Service AG and from 1993 Spokesman of the Board. The company recycled up to 1 million tons of industrial residues p. a. in Germany and abroad. At that time, the group's pro rata sales exceeded DM 200 million. 1500 employees worked in 18 subsidiaries.

1995 through 1996 he was Managing Director of a company recycling organics all over Germany.

1997 through 2001 he assumed the position of the CFO and Deputy Chairman of the Executive Board of Directors of VBH Holding AG, Stuttgart, an international trading group listed at the Frankfurt and Stuttgart stock exchanges. Its sales of window and door hardware total DM 1.2 billion.

Dr. Walter joined the ALD’s Board of Directors as per December 1, 2001.

As of July 1, 2004, Dr. Reinhard Walter has taken over the position as Chairman of the Board of Directors. Contemporaneously with the IPO of the parent company AMG Advanced Metallurgical Group, NV., The Netherlands, in 2007, Reinhard Walter was appointed member  of AMG’s Board of Directors.
